Knitting Gallery Update

Who hoo! After some trial and error and painstaking uploading of 3Mb of pictures on dial-up (twice!), I've finally managed to update my knitting gallery. The new pages are:

Page 5--Winter 2005-2006

Page 6--Holidays 2005

Page 7--Wee Socks and Wee Hats

I've also added two new original patterns:

Chevron Baby Hat

Bill's Wrist Warmers

The older pages have also gone through a bit of a face-lift, with pattern information, yarns used, needles, and gauge added to all the pictured projects. I still need to add pattern notes to one or two of the projects, but that's going to wait for another burst of efficiency.

I found pictures of your fish blanket online & I'd love to make one but can't seem to find anywhere to buy the pattern. Would you be willing to part with your Issue #51 or at least part with a photocopy or scanned PDF of the pattern? I would be forever indebted.

As much as I would like to help out, I'm afraid I can't photocopy or reproduce the pattern without violating the magazine's copyright. I did check on back issues, and unfortunately the back issues of that particular issue are also sold out (though you can always try Ebay).

One thing you can do, though, is go to your local library and inter-library loan the pattern (or if you're lucky, they might even have Knitter's in their archives). Here's the full cite again if you need it:

"Festive Fish Afghan." Paula Levy. Knitter's Magazine. Issue 51 (Summer 1998): 66-67.

(And yeah, it's the same end result, a copy of the pattern without buying the whole magazine, but for whatever bizarre reason it's Fair Use and okay if the library does it, but not if I do it.)

I also found a post on the [livejournal.com profile] knitting community with instructions for a similar type of fish:

http://community.livejournal.com/knitting/5714491.html

It's a bit more angled and there's no mouth or eyes, but it's fairly close.

Best of luck, and sorry I can't be of more help.
